Amy's Helpful Mathematics Resources for Teachers (Grades 6-8) includes links to lesson plans, resources, and biographies.  Click at the top of the pages for links for geometry and number concepts.

CLRN - Math Electronic Learning Resources (California Learning Resource Network)for mathematics sources that have all been reviewed and rated. Includes video streaming sources, software, and CD-ROM for grades K-12.

Common Core State Standards-- Math These are common standards that have been developed to bring mathematics curriculum in the United States to the levels of high-performing countries.

Computing Technology for Math Excellence "Teachers, parents, and home-schoolers will appreciate the collection of resources assembled at Computing Technology for Math Education. Resources are available for students of all ability levels -- from very basic to calculus -- as well as for students with special needs. Visitors to the site can find articles about education and technology news; research on topics in math education, implementing standards, and standardized testing; and resources on technology integration, multimedia in projects, web design, national math initiatives, math methodology, and professional development. Teachers will also find resources for teaching math to learners with special needs and helping struggling readers. Also available are reviews of math software titles to potentially raise student achievement. Rounding out the site are links to professional development resources, educational associations, and journals.

Educational Resources in Mathematics Community Learning Network, a site designed to help K-12 teachers integrate technology into the classroom. Includes curricular and instructional sites plus theme pages for careers in math, fractals, math history and tessellations.

Game Theory for Math There's plenty of material here to draw students young and old into the math of everyday life. Background essays describe how game theory works, and interactive games give visitors a chance to explore risk, strategy and probability. But the real clinchers are sections describing how mathematics underlies plots in popular films, literature, and headline news stories.

Handley Math Page is from the Virginia Department of Education and includes math humor, problem of the week, math facts, puzzles, poems and songs, quotes and lesson plans.

Math Is Everywhere algebra resources from Gail Lovely for both students and teachers

Math Links is a collection of links from a sixth grade teacher in South Dakota.  Topics include graphing, number sense, order of operations, measurement, fractions, decimals, percentages, rates, ratios and proportions; probability, integers, coordinate graphing, and geometry.

Math Nexus - Mathematics Portal news and ideas for teachers and learners of mathematics

Math World or Eric Weisstein's World of Mathematics "is a mathematical resource assembled over more than a decade by Eric Weisstein. With a highly comprehensive and interactive mathematics encyclopedia provided, it is intended for students, educators, math enthusiasts, and researchers. Clearly laid out are a variety of subjects, products, services, and updated news on math within the site."

Math-Kitecture - real-life math, architecture and computers! Students learn estimation, measuring skills, proportion, and ratios by hand-drafting a floor plan of their classroom to scale. They then use existing classroom software to create a computer-aided design (CAD) version.

Mathwire.com "Classroom tested math activities organized by topic and by National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards."

Middle School Portal 2 "supports middle grades educators with high-quality, standards-based resources and promotes collaboration and knowledge sharing among its users.  Educators use MSP2 to increase content knowledge in science, mathematics and appropriate pedagogy for youth ages 10 to 15. MSPS2 employs social networking and digital tools to foster dynamic experiences that promote creation, modification, and sharing of resources, facilitate professional development, and support the integration of technology into practice.

NRICH   Rich-media math resources from Cambridge for students grades 3-12. NRICH publishes free online mathematics enrichment resources that are designed to develop subject knowledge and problem solving skills for students of all ages (8-19). It is based in both the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Education and the Centre of Mathematical Sciences. games, interactive puzzles, and movies that teach various concepts in math. New content is published each month and there is also an archive of past months.

Shmoop Pre-Algebra Starts with basic operations and goes into fractions, decimals, ratios & percentages, basic geometry, statistics & probability, and finally basic algebra.  Each section includes links to resources, lesson plans, and interactive sites.

Radical Math Integrates social and economic justice into math- search for articles, books, curriculum, films, graphs, maps, or tables.

Fun Mathematics Lessons from Cynthia Lanius who was Rice University and created a site that was selected as one of the top 12 math sites for teachers as chosen by ISTE

Internet Pizza Server Lesson Plans lets students practice math skills by calculating things such as the area of a pizza or the price per slice. Students can order a picture of their pizza over the Internet.

Project Sky Math: Making Mathematical Connections is from NASA and is a collection of lesson plans for six weeks integrating weather information with math

Purple Math is a very large and comprehensive collection of original math lessons to help students with algebra.

Visual Math Learning Lesson plans, online practice exercise and interactive games and puzzles make pre-algebra fun.

Greta's Game Station games for grades K-12

Hooda Math created by a math teacher who wanted math games that really contained "math" in them so kids could learn.  Site includes games, videos, tutorials and worksheets.

Interactivates This resource investigates 3D shapes in Geometry. There are tutorials on surface area, volume, Euler's Theorem, and platonic solids. There is also an introduction and an interactive activity to test the students on skills taught.

IXL Math Free online interactive math problems for grades K-6th.  Sixth grade includes algebra, geometry, ratios, decimals, fractions, integers, coordinate graphing, statistics, etc.

Johnnie's Math Page Links are organized by topic including number, geometry, fractions, multiplication, measurement, statistics, probability, and fun. Each topic contains an assortment of activities that are labeled by level, from primary to intermediate. Math Vids features hundreds of math instruction videos: teachers create math lessons using Smartboard technology and post them to the Math Vids site. Students can access & watch videos and can rate them. Aimed at middle through college students. Must register, but is free.

Mathcasts “Mathcasts are screencasts (screen movies) which are created and shared to improve the learning and teaching of mathematics.” Narration is combined with screen writing to demonstrate a variety of mathematical concepts. This site contains a collection of mathcasts that have been submitted by teachers, students, professionals, and children. Both teachers and students of grades four through twelve will find these useful in demonstrating and understanding mathematical concepts. Topics include everything from reading and writing whole numbers to calculus. Information on how these may be used in the classroom is available as well as information on how users can create their own mathcasts.
